General Characteristics:
These aggregates are produced by the process of crushing concrete elements from demolition or final products of precast concrete. Often, they are obtained locally as a result of construction work, such as demolition or reconstruction. They are a good alternative to natural aggregates and an excellent example of putting the circular economy into practice. Using recycled aggregates will reduce construction waste from demolition and save natural aggregate resources. Concrete is a raw material that can be successfully reused multiple times.
Application:
Aggregates resulting from recycled concrete are widely used in the construction industry. They can be used, among other things, for: the production of ready-mix concrete, laying the base course of roads, roadsides, parking lots and sidewalks. They will also perform well in embankments, soil stabilization and site hardening.
Application Benefits:
- reduction in emissions associated with the construction and transportation of delivered aggregate;
- earning additional points in the BREAM and LEAD multi-criteria sustainable building and construction assessments for the use of recycled materials,
- saving natural aggregate resources,
- reducing the amount of construction waste lying in landfills,
- savings by reducing the amount of material used due to the lower volumetric density of recycled aggregates.
Sustainable Production:
We have modern methods of producing recycled aggregates. The process involves crushing the material from selective demolition, determining the classification of the resulting raw material, and confirming the quality parameters based on compliance testing. We also offer transportation of aggregate if the production process takes place off-site. The final parameters of the aggregate depend on the material from which it is made. It can also be made on site, so you can easily build the raw material back into the structure or building. In this way, you reduce CO2 emissions, as well as costs resulting from the transportation of natural aggregate.
Standards:
The product complies with PN-EN 13242 – Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials used in civil engineering and road construction.
